Description
Matson 140 Amp Voltage Sensitive Relay with Override Switch

The Matson designed smart voltage sensitive relay, with override switch, isolates your second battery and electronics from harmful engine starting spikes while still allowing two or more batteries to be charged simultaneously. This design eliminates the possibility of discharging the wrong battery, for a more detailed description of this read the specifications section below.

A light on the front of the unit indicates charging, which some customers just simply love to watch!

The unit is hermetically sealed which means it is dust and water resistant so it is suitable for 4x4, marine and truck applications.

The advantage of the override switch is that you are able to manually link both batteries in an emergency which requires you to run both batteries together.

For example, you have left the lights or stereo on in your vehicle and have flattened your main starting battery but luckily your auxiliary battery is still fully charged. Simply go to the isolator, flick the override switch and the power from the auxiliary battery will flow to your main starter battery and you will be able to jump start yourself!

While other units on the market require you to run cables in and out of the engine bay which means more connections, more wiring and overall an increased risk of component failure this isolating system has an easy do-it-yourself installation with full instruction manual included.

Also don't forget to check out our range of dual battery wiring kits available from the Wiring Kits section.

Specifications & Dimensions
Rated Voltage 12V
Rated Amperage 140A
Cut In 13.3V
Cut Out 12.8V
Weight 0.25kg
Dimensions 7.7x 8.5x 5cm

The VSR or voltage sensitive relay is what allows two batteries to be charged simultaneously and then isolates them from each other when the vehicle is turned off.

When the engine is first started the relay opens, isolating the two batteries this remains open until the primary battery had reached the preset voltage of 13.7V. The relay then closes, allowing the two batteries to be charged together. Then when the engine is stopped the voltage returns to normal levels which allows the relay to open again. This separates the two batteries and this eliminates the possibility of discharging your main starting battery.

Once this smart solenoid detects your main battery is at full charge it will automatically begin to charge your auxiliary battery.
