CTEK SmartPass 12V Energy Management Unit

CTEK’s SMARTPASS is designed to work in conjunction with the CTEK DS250 Dual and cannot be used as a standalone unit.

The D250S alone can only charge up to 20A, by combining the SMARTPASS unit you will be able to charge up to 80A at the optimal charging voltage of 14.4V even if your alternator produces 14V or less.

This is particularly useful for those with large battery banks or power hungry appliances and wish to reduce their charging time and run their system more efficiently.

The SMARTPASS acts as an intelligent voltage sensitive switch; initially it provides high charge current to charge your service battery as quickly as possible and once the service battery voltage equals the starter battery voltage charging switches back to the D250S Dual.

The other major advantage to the SMARTPASS is the integrated battery guard. This feature protects deep cycle batteries from total discharge and ensures that critical equipment such as radio, emergency lights and navigation systems are always functioning.

An inbuilt temperature sensor protects against high temperatures.

With an IP65 rating the unit is water jet and dust protected, approved for outdoor use.

Recommended installation locations for the system are in the rear of vehicle, in the centre console or beneath the dash.

The system is suitable for all types of 12V lead acid batteries between 28 and 800 Ah.

So for the quickest charging and optimal battery reliability you cannot pass the combination of the D250S Dual and SMARTPASS.
